Saroori chairs estimates committee meeting at Chatroo. | Estimates committee directed Commissioner Secretary R & B to start work on Sangpora-Viloo tunnel. | | Asif Iqbal Naik EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar August 8:- MLA Inderwal and Chairman State Estimates Committee Ghulam Mohammad Saroori chaired meeting at Chatroo Kishtwar, which was attended by the officers of various government department beside Panches and Sarpanches of Chatroo block. During the course of meeting various issues pertaining to the development of area has been discussed with threadbare. Mr. Saroori while reviving the progress of various developmental various shows his concern over slow progress in utilization of funds for various developmental works as already 5 months time period out of the working season have already finished. He urged upon the concerned officers to expedite the developmental works in this downtrodden area of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He shows his great concern towards the worst conditions of roads, shortage of staff in hospitals, transfer of ISM Doctors, shortage of drinking water, non function of Anganwari center and distribution of ration. He directed the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to expedite the land acquisition case on fast track so that the developmental works in term of PMGSY and NABARD could be completed on time. He said that Kishtwar has witnessed drought this year as well and further directed the DC Kishtwar to prepare the drought report of the area, so that same could be submitted to the government for favorable action. He stressed for early start of work on prestigious Sangpora-Viloo tunnel and directed the Commissioner Secretary R & B and Chief Engineer to finish the work on approach road up to tunnel point at an earliest so that the work on prestigious Sanpora-Viloo tunnel could be started. Commissioner Secretary on the direction of estimates committee also personal visited the construction point and also takes first hand information about the ongoing road widening project up to the tunnel point. The members of estimates committee also show its concern of delay in completion of various developmental works in Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar District. PDP MLA from Drahal Chowdhary Zulafkar Ali stress for exploration of tourism in Kishtwar District. He said that Kishtwar District have lot of potential in terms of tourism which needs to taped at any cost for the overall development of the area. He directed the Director Tourism to take immediate steps for construction of tourism huts at Sinthan, which he termed as a paradise. He said that due to lack of proper vision in taping the huge tourism potential of areas like Chatroo, the areas sans the development. He directed the DC Kishtwar to outsource the newly constructed TRC building at Kishtwar so that some revenue could be generated, which could be utilized for other developmental workers in tourism sector. The estimates committee members also inspect the Model Village Hullar and various other sites on going developmental workers. This is for the first time in the history that any such high level meeting was held in Tehsil Chatroo. The others members of the estimates committee who also spokes on this occasion includes MLA Ramban Ashok Kumar, MLC Naresh Gupta and MLC Subash Chander Gupta.
