EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 8: Unfazed by happenings across the state, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was reportedly holidaying with his family in New Delhi and returned to Srinagar on Monday.
Highly placed sources said that despite New Delhi's annoyance with Omar regularly shuttling between Srinagar and New Delhi, the tech savvy Chief Minister found time from his busy schedule to visit his family in New Delhi. They added that Omar wen to Delhi on Saturday evening and after staying for a day with his family, returned to Srinagar on Monday at around 4 pm. Sources said that omar was expected to break his routine after New Delhi explicitly asked him to take job at home with apt seriousness.
They added that Omar heard the message loud and clear but being a family man has so far been unable to resist the temptation of meeting his family in New Delhi every weakend.
The only difference is that personnel staff of Omar Abdullah has been keeping Omar's New Delhi visits top secret. Ask them and they outrightly deny of Omar being out of station i.e out of Srinagar even once. Sources maintained that they are following the directions from the top.
New Delhi has advised Omar to keep his visits outside the state for personnel reasons completely secret, said sources close to Chief Minister. They disclosed that Omar has been advised to avoid unnecessary controversies over trivial issues. Sources went on to say that omar's personnel staff has been asked to deny everything pertaining to Omar's New Delhi visits.
On being asked, a close aide of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said 'Omar was here. Who told you, he had gone to New Delhi. He was very much here in his office in the civil secretariat since morning.' When informed that Omar was seen at the airport, he said 'it is a blatant lie. You might have seen someone else.'
