Chhari Mubarak will leave for holy Cave tomorrow from Pahalgam,

Srinagar,Aug 9: Chhari Mubarak, the holy silver mace of Lord Shiva, will leave from here tomorrow for holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, situated at 13500 feet. The Holy Mace, one depicting Lord Shiva and another Goddess, will have night halt at Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on 48-km-long traditional Nunwan Pahalgam track before leaving for Sheshnag (3352 meters) on August 11.
Led by Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of the Holy Mace, will leave Sheshnag on August 12 to reach Panchtarni (3657 mtrs) after crossing Poshpathri (4114 meters) and Mahagunas top (4276 mtrs) on foot the same afternoon. Chhari Mubarak will start final journey on August 13 early morning to reach the holy Shrine, where concluding Puja will be held before returning journey same afternoon, ending 46-day-long annual pilgrimage.
The age-old traditional rituals connected with the Chhari-Mubarak started on July 15 when Bhoomi Punjan and Dhawajarohan ceremonies were performed on Vyas Purnima at Pahalgam. Mahant Giri, said after performing the rituals, Chhari-Mubarak returned to Dashnami Akhara the same day. However, Pujan was performed at historic Martand temple, Mattan on the way from Pahalgam to Srinagar.
Charri Mubarak was taken to several temples, including Shankaracharya and Sharika Bhawani temples in Srinagar before starting the final journey to cave shrine on August 4 on ''Nag-Panchami''. Chhari Mubarak commences its journey to holy Shrine yesterday from Dashnami Akhara for night halt at Pahalgam.
However, on the way to Pahalgam, Pujan was performed at Sureshwar temple, Shiv Temple Pampore, Shiv Temple Bijbehara, 'Martand-Tirth' Mattan and Ganesh temple across river Lidder, Ganeshbal. Hundreds of devotees, besides a large number of Muslims, received the Holy Mace at Martand Tirth Mattan.
Traditional rituals and prayers shall be offered the whole day at holy cave on August 13. However, before dusk, Chhari-Mubarak shall leave for night halt at Panchtarani from where it will have another night halt at Pahalgam. ''Pujan and Visarjan'' ceremonies shall be performed on the bank of river Lidder.
Thereafter, traditional ''Kari-Pakouri'' Bhandara shall be organised for saints. With this last ritual, annual pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath shall culminate and Chhari-Mubarak shall return to its Abode at Srinagar.
