| Farewell accorded to Principal Sessions Judge Subhash Chander Gupta | | | Jammu, Nov 30 A warm and touching farewell was accorded to Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu on his attaining the age of Superannuation after rendering 32 years of service in Judiciary of J&K State. The Judicial Employees Welfare Association organized a function in this regard today which was attended by all the Additional District & Sessions Judges, Presiding Officer TADA, Special Judge Anticorruption, CJM, Sub-Judge, Special Mobile Magistrates and the Munsiffs . On this occasion President Judicial Employees Welfare Association Mr. Mangat Ram Parihar lauded the services of Mr Gupta and wished him a healthy and prosperous life and presented a memento to the retiring Judge. Mr Gupta thanked the association members and his colleagues for the best cooperation they provided him during his service tenure. Born on November 29, 1946 at Udhampur Mr Gupta and did his graduation in Science from Government Degree College Udhampur in 1967, did LLb from law Faculty University of Delhi in 1971 and enrolled as an advocate by the Bar Council of India in 1971, joined Udhampur Bar in the same year and practiced their for about two years. He appeared in KCS (Judicial Examination) and qualified in 1974 and posted as Munsiff Bhasoli. He served as Munsiff RS Pura, Banihal, District Mobile Magistrate Udhampur and promoted Sub-Judge in 1983 and posted as Sub-Judge Reasi, Special Mobile Magistrate, Passenger Tax, Electricity for Jammu province, Sub-Judge Ramban, Municipal Magistrate Jammu, CJM Jammu and promoted as District and Sessions Judge, posted Principal Sessions Judge Leh, Registrar Judicial High Court of J&K, Jammu Wing, Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu for 3 years and got selection grade in April 2002, posted Member J&K Special Tribunal Jammu and presently posted Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu for the second time. He was a senior most District & Sessions Judge in Jammu Province. During the period as Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu Mr Gupta delivered various important judgments including 30 years imprisonment with Rs two lakh as fine to a Pak National in NDPS Act and recently he discharged the alleged accused from the involvement in Ragunath bazaar/Ragunath temple attack case at the stage of framing charge and took serious note of the investigation conducted by the police and issued notice to the IOs for the explanation.
