People of his native village Tangwari Gulgam, who took to the streets on several occasions, alleged that police and civil administration has failed to trace Fayaz Ahmad Lone. However, the District Magistrate (DM), Kupwara, said police teams have been rushed to different places, including Jammu and Punjab to trace the missing driver. He said Superintendent of Police, Kupwara was personally monitoring the case, who also remained in touch with him. "I am getting daily reports about the progress of the case, the DM said, adding, " so far no lead has been established. However, he hoped that the police will find Lone. The locals said Lone was in touch with his family members till July 19 from Jammu and since then his mobile remained off. Holding demonstrations yesterday, his relatives and other people of the area alleged that police remained helpless and clueless. "We want to know what happened to him...if he is dead give us the body and if he is alive tell us," the family members demanded.
