Vijay of J&K bags fourth place in shooting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, August 09: Though the state shooters could make it to the medals tally, yet they performed well in the just concluded Gun for Glory National Shooting Championship at Balewadi Shooting Range, Pune in Maharashtra. Part of the state team, Vijay Kumar, a shooter from Jammu and Kashmir Police secured 367 points out of 400 to tie with the score of bronze medal winner, Amol of Railways in the senior category and had to contain with fourth place. Another upcoming shooter, Tejaswi Singh has qualified for the national championship as also Kerela National Games on the basis of his performance. He secured 354 points out of a total of 400. As also Matish Singh has done well obtaining 565 points out of 600 in the ISSF Air Rifle category. It is for the first time that as many as six shooters from the state have qualified for the forthcoming 55th National Shooting Championship. Meanwhile, on their return, the shooters were complimented by the working president of the J&K Rifle Association, Dilbag Singh.
