Mammoth BJP public rally against corruption, black-money and price rise held
8/9/2011 9:56:23 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 9: In continuation of month long district level awareness programmes launched last month in the state, a mammoth public rally was organized on Tuesday at Udhampur under the leadership of its BJP Distt.President Dina Nath Bhagat against the scourge of corruption, black-money and price rise. The programme commenced with felicitating of over two dozen Sarpanches and Panches who got elected during the recent Panchayat elections from different areas of Udhampur district.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that today's rally is part of the string of protests and awareness programmes being organized at various district headquarters by the party. He said that the people have lost the patience with the UPA and NC government on account of their misgovernance and corruption. He said that these political setups have now even given up the pretence of being not corrupt. All public works are got done by allotting contracts on the indication of the ministers without calling for tenders. The land mafia has been given complete free hand to grab any available state land anywhere and everywhere.
BJP National Executive Member & former State President Nirmal Singh, in his address said that India’s resurgences and attaining its full potential are being thwarted by the corruption and venality of the UPA and NC-Congress coalition governments of the Centre and State. The level of corruption and the magnitude of the scams is such that the economy of the country is threatened and dispassionate economists apprehend that the nation's march towards prosperity is greatly threatened and put in uncertainity. He appealed to the public to join and strengthen the hands of BJP in its struggle against the corruption.
National Executive Member & Chief spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh appealed the public to rise against the corruption as that would ultimately be beneficial for each and every citizen of the country. He cited the example of various countries, especially in the Arab peninsula, where the people have reason in revolt against corruption of the governments. He said that progress and march of the country towards 21st century cannot be held hostage to the greed and avarice of the Congress-led UPA government at Centre and coalition in the state. Every citizen of this country has a moral duty to oppose corruption and should have enough moral strength to carry this objective to its logic conclusion. He added that history shall not forgive us if we do not resolutely and firmly oppose the corruption of the Congress and ensure cleansing of the governance in the country for the benefit of future generations.
