| GCW Gandhi Nagar organises Van Mahotsav function | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 9: Department of Botany and Department of Music at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar organised a function in connection with Van Mahotsav celebration.
The chief guest of the programme was Prof. Nalini Kohli, Principal GCW, Gandhi Nagar, who interacted with students and apprised them of the importance of Van Mahotsav in conservation of the environment. She also emphasized the interdependence of all the biotic and abiotic components of the ecosystem.

Presented saplings of Chinar ( Platanus orientalis) to the chief guest, Prof. Nalini Kohli, who planted the sapling in the campus, thereby inaugurating the month long celebration of Van Mahotsav.
The function comprised of a colourful cultural programme and a symposium on the topic “Impact of global warming on Biodiversity”.
