| Jan inaugurates auditorium at GGHSS Sheshmahal Poonch | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
POONCH, Aug 9:
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Poonch Ajaz Ahmed Jan today inaugurated newly constructed Examination-cum-Auditorium hall at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sheshmahal here at Poonch.
Jan had provided Rs 20 lakh out of his Constituency Dev. Funds (CDF) to the institution last year for construction of auditorium and other allied works.
An amount of rupees 12 lakh was spent on construction of the hall which is completed within record period of 6 months.
Responding to the demands of the institution Jan instructed PWD authorities to construct 3 additional rooms under
BRGF Funds to meet accommodation problems of the institution. He further directed for construction of toilet in the institution under CDF.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA lauded positive attitude of Chief Minister Omar Abdulla who sanctioned Rs. 10 crores for construction of Mini Secretariat Poonch, besides additional Rs 14 crores to complete ongoing Works under district plan during last financial year. He said besides this various development works have been taken up in this border district which includes construction of Tehsil office complex Mandi, improvement of Road Network, Emergency Block at District Hospital, Agriculture complex etc.
District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Ajeet Kumar Sahu also spoke on the occasion and said that almost 50% funds under District sector are being spent for promotion of Education Sector during current year. Directions have also been passed to executing authorities to provide bathroom facilities to each educational institution on priority, DDC added.
