PDP holds demonstration against Surankote fake encounter | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 10: To lodge protest against fake encounter at Surankote in which one innocent youth was brutally killed by the forces, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held a massive demonstration at Jammu in which all senior leaders of party participated. Party leaders flayed Omar Abdullah led coalition regime for continued bloodbath in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing party workers, general secretary of PDP, Thakur Balbir Singh said that killing of an innocent youth has exposed claims of the National Conference led regime in the state. He said that killing of innocents at the hands of security forces has exposed that this government has become completely immune to the atrocities it has been inflicting on the innocent people. Terming Surankote incident as inhuman crime, he said that that instead of healing wounds of the people, the state government headed by Omar Abdullah has given free hand to security forces as well as police to kill innocent people in the name of fighting militancy. PDP general secretary also took strong notice of the decision of the hurriedly burying the body of the victim without establishing his identity. Veteran party leader Rangil Singh while expressing his grave concern over uncontrolled and continues killing of innocent people in the state, said that ruling National Conference has once again brought back black era of terror that it had presided over between 1996 to 2002. Former MLC Ved Mahajan, while terming action of the government to bury body of the victim without identification as heinous crime, said, “It raises serious questions as to why police was in such a haste to bury the body.” Daman Bhasin, Shanti Devi, Falail Singh, Hussain Ali Wafa, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Suram Singh, R K Bali, Sushila Jamwal, Capt Anil Gour and others addressed the gathering. Meanwhile Party MLAs Rafiq Hussain Khan and Choudhary Zulfikar have also condemned killing of innocent youth at Surankote in fake encounter.
