VERA rants over the attitude of SRTC management | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 10: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VREA) strongly criticized the adamant attitude of the management of the J&K SRTC. Addressing the media on Wednesday Dev Raj Bali-President strongly criticized the adamant attitude of the management of the J&K SRTC for not clearing dues till date, though at the time of VRS we were assured all the dues and benefits will be cleared within 60 days but sorry to state 2 years have been passed and we are suffering badly and giving dharnas and demonstration but our dues have not been cleared till date. He added, “We have been paid only 50% and 50% is still pending due to drawn bills including leave salary, ex-gratia, and gratuity. Whereas we are unable to understand that 126 slab COLA is being paid to the in-service employees, whereas we were in service with effect from this COLA has been given to inservice employees why we have been neglected” Bali added, “We now request to the Chief Minister, J&K and Finance Minister J&K and Transport Minister/Chairman to please personally intervene into the matter and dues may please be given to VRS employees which they have every right in every respect.”. Bali requested the MD J&KSRTC to pay the pending salaries for April, May, June and July,2011 otherwise if within few days their dues are not cleared the VRS Employees Association will sit on dharna in front of General Manager office at Bikram Chowk, Jammu. Vera is seeking, 6th Pay Commission from 1.1.2006 and CP Fund amount interest. Also present during the press confrece included Surinder Singh¬General Secretary Balwinder Singh, D.N.Sharma, B.V.Sharma, Asan Elahh Surjit Singh and Gulshan Singh.
