BJP holds rally against corruption, black money

JAMMU, Aug 10: As part of district level programmes against corruption, black money and price rise, Akhnoor district BJP organized a massive rally in which newly elected Sarpanches and Panches were felicitated and given the commitment that BJP will continue its struggle for grant of full powers to the panchayats by implementation of 73rd amendment of the Indian constitution.
BJP National Secretary & former MP Kirit Somaiya, who was the chief guest on the occasion said that while the BJP has intensified its campaign against corruption, both inside the parliament and outside, it is now also going to take up the issue of corruption and scams in
Jammu Kashmir which instead of being No.1 in development is fast heading towards earning the reputation of No. 1 corrupt state in India. Although large amounts of Central grants are poured into the state, yet there is inadequate development and prosperity.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas said that a number of ministers are involved in land scams and have made property out of proportion to their known sources of income through illegal means. He said that Chief Minister and his colleagues are having good time and enjoying life at the expenses of state exchequers and travelling within an outside the country. He said that it is not only the corruption but the black money and price rise which have shattered the faith of a common Indian citizen and people are looking towards BJP with high hopes.
BJP National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh while condemning the lathi charge on BJYM activists outside parliament said that UPA has reminded the nation of emergency days and said similar challenges are being faced by us even today when democracy is murdered.
BJP National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the farce of Panchayat election without implementing 73rd amendment was made to obtain Central funds of Rs. 1200 crores in the name of panchayat but without the true empowerment of local body.
State General Secretary Sat Sharma and Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma also addressed the gathering.
