Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's administrative set-up has seemingly turned deaf ears to the pleas of a wailing father whose only son is suffering from a life consuming disease.
Despite publishing multicolored advertisements in almost all the local dailies with claims of reaching to the poorest of the poor, Omar's administration is playing with the emotions and hopes of an old and aged father. He knows that his son is suffering from a life consuming disease but hopes that if aid pours in at the right time, a miracle might happen and his son may get another life.
But the aid has got stuck in the official murk of the state. Babus who have become stubborn in Omar's regime are making this old man to move from one block to the other block of Chief Minister's secretariat but doing nothing to help this man give another chance to his son to survive.
Finding the thick skinned Babus difficult to tame, the old man filed a complaint with Chief Minister's grievance redressal cell vide no 24046 regarding implementation of directions from the High Court, in which the Court has directed the state government to release medical expenses in favour of Ashok Koul for treatment of his son Vipul Koul, a government employee of Stores Procurement Department, Jammu after conducting the medical examination of patient.
Addressing a press conference here today, Ashok Koul father of Vipul Koul provided information regarding careless attitude of the CM's secretariat. Koul said that recently Medical Board of Government Medical College, Jammu vide its no GMC/PS/MBC-309/2556 dated: 20.7.2011 had intimated the government that the patient is suffering from life consuming disease adding that hence the directions of court are becoming mandatory for the government, but instead of releasing the required amount the Finance Department sent the case to Chief Minister's Relief Fund committee which is clear violation of rules as only such cases are dealt there which are not concerned to government employees. Father of the patient contended that Chief Minister's Relief Fund deals only in such cases where an applicant other than government employee cannot bear medical expenses at his own due to poor economic condition. Hapless parents of Vipul asked the government, "Do we bring order from apex court of Pakistan".
