| GEJAC calls for unity of employees, framing of joint platform | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: Government Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) has decided to hold general council meeting in Jammu to deliberate over framing a common platform for fighting against the government delay in accepting their demands.
In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that a general house meeting of the committee was held wherein about 36 constituents of the GEJAC representing various unions and associations participated. Leaders maintained that hasty and unprincipled stand of some leaders is jeopardizing interest of employees.
They said that GEJAC would participate in strikes but only after state level unity of all the groups is forged. Leaders namely Jaswant Singh, Gafoor Dar, Subhash Verma, Sushil Sudan, Pardeep Sharma, Suresh Sharma, Satish Sharma, P.S. Chib, Prem Singh Bawa and Ravi Singh Bhau said that piecemeal and stopgap calls are given only at the behest of some agencies to spread disunity.
They informed that a general council meeting of leadership will be held on September 2, 2011 at Jammu to ascertain views for future strategy of the struggle. The decision in the General Council of GEJAC shall form basis for future action. About 350 delegates from Jammu province are expected to participate in this historic meet.
GEJAC again warned the government immediately review roadmap for the payment of arrears in cash, regularization of daily wagers, adhoc, consolidated and contractual employees, implementation of 6th pay commission report, release of DA to all the PSUs, budgetary support to the sick PSUs, removal of pay anomalies of all the cadres particularly clerical cadre and increase in retirement age to 60 years.
All the constituent leaders Bishan Verma, Farooq, Sawaran Singh, Sanjay Abrol, Piran Ditta, Bushan S.Verma, Anchal Bakshi, K.C.Dubey, Baldev Singh, Vinod Sharma, Rattan Doshi, Suman Sharma, Maheshwar Parsad Sharma, Anil Mehta, Jarnail Khokhar, Anoop Sharma, Moulvi Muneer, Devinder Rathore, Manjoor Ali, Paramjit Kour, Sunita Hasia, Ganshyam, Romesh Khajuria, R.D.Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Jasmit Singh, Shambu Sambyal, Arun Moja, Satpal, Surjit Singh, A.K.Tandon and Sukhir Sudan were present in the press conference.
