| WDC holds function on ‘Breast feeding’ | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 11: A small but impressive function was organized in college premises of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur by women development cell in collaboration with health department of Udhampur.
Dr. Chander Parkash who is presently Superintendent of District Hospital Udhampur was chief guest of this valuable function. The theme of the function was “Breast Feeding-The baby friendly way”. Participants made beautiful posters on the said theme and expressed their views through their posters.
Convener of Women Development cell, Dr. Anuradha Pandoh welcomed the guests and gave her views about the benefits of breast feeding for the baby. Chief Guest in his address encouraged participants to participate actively in such programmes to enhance their knowledge regarding the importance of Breast Feeding.
Radhika Sharma also gave an impressive lecture regarding the benefits of breast feeding. The function concluded with the distribution of prizes and with the vote of thanks by Prof. Tania Akhter. Chhina Magotra of B.Sc Part-I got first prize, Aishwarya Jamwal of B.Sc Part-I got IInd prize amd Taniya Sharma of B.Sc Part-I got IIIrd prize.
Judges on the occasion were Prof. Ashni Devi, Prof. Kewal Kumar, Prof. Swarna Bhougal. Dr. B.B.Sharma, Prof. Umesh Kailoo and Dr. Poonam Khajuria were also present on the occasion.
