KPs leave for Chota Amarnath pilgrimage in Thajiwara | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, August 11: Hundreds of Kashmiri Pandit pilgrims from different migrant colonies of Jammu left for pilgrimage to the ancient holy cave-temple of Lord Shiva at Thajiwara Bijbehara in South Kashmir this morning. Thajiwara annual Yatra and festival, at “Pracheen Cave of Amarnath at Thajiwara,Bijbehara will be held on August 13 under the auspices of Devasthan Prabandhak Committee Tehsil Bijbehara. Annual Puja Archana will start tomorrow evening at the renovated shrine complex and will continue till evening of August 13 2on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Purnamashi. Pracheen cave of lord Amarnath at Thajiwara is one of the most prominent religious shrines of the Hindus. This Asthaphana is believed as an inseparable part of Holy cave of Swami Amarnath pilgrimage and has similar religious importance. It is the reason that Pracheen (Ancient) cave of Thajiwara, Bibehara has been attracting devotees since times immemorial for spiritual solace. All the Pandits of Kashmir have hailed the efforts and arrangements of the Managing Committee of DPC for Chota Amarnath pilgrimage. The Managing Committee has also been striving for inclusion of Thajiwara shrine in the category of pilgrim tourism spots of Jammu and Kashmir. “We hope that like 2007,2009, this year also the local Kashmiri Muslims will welcome their Pandit brethren who will come from different parts of the state and country” said Prof M L Malla, President, Devasthan Prabandhak Committee Tehsil Bijbehara He added that thousands of people are expected to be there on the occasion of Shravan Purnamashi.
