| Shiv Sena protests inefficiency of R&B, PDD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 11: Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackeray and Dogra Front today held a protest demonstration against the inefficiency of R&B, PDD and PHE Department in tackling the situation arisen out of last night’s heavy rainfall.
The protesting Shiv Sainiks said a long queue of vehicles was formed on circular road to Nagrota due to landslides triggered by heavy fall last night but the R&B authorities made no arrangement to clear the road till late afternoon.
The workers of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena took out a protest march from Sabzi Mandi which passed through different city bazaars before culminating at City Chowk. While addressing the gathering Ashok Gupta President Shiv Sena strongly condemned the PHE and Power Deptt for failing to supply water and electricity from morning till late in the afternoon.
Gupta said that on papers we have Disaster Management Plan but when natural calamities strike the whole system of the R&B, PDD and PHE seems to go in limbo like we witnessed today.
Shiv Sena leader demanded better management of such disasters in future.
