| 'Media sector has immense job potential for youth' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SAMBA, Aug 11: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College Samba in collaboration with B B Institute of Journalism & Mass Communication, Shastri Nagar today held a special session for the students on "Career Opportunities in Media." Through this event, students were made aware about the job potential in the field of media.
Creative Head of the Institute Tahir Mushtaq made a brief presentation on the subject. He apprised the students that media sector has registered an overwhelming growth rate in the last three decades and same is likely to continue in next two decades as well which means more opportunities for the youth in media sector.
Academic Coordinator Bindu Gupta told students that though media has immense job potential but through professional training to required to be a successful journalist. She urged students to explore career in media field but not without having proper training. She apprised that B B Institute is the only institution in Jammu province that imparts professional training to the youth in the field of media. Thereafter, question answer session was organized in which students posed questions to the visiting team and got replies. Students were extremely happy to know about the career dynamics in media.
Video editor Yash Khajuria stressed on the subject of journalism and told the students how to make career in this field.
He also gives proper guidelines to join this filed as profession.
Geetanjli Rajput, Incharge Career Counselling Cell said students must look for career in non conventional sectors. "Career in media is a real good opportunity for the students as they will get an exposure of very high class while working as media man", she added.
