Muzaffar Parray resigns from Congress | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNS): Senior Congress leader Muzaffar Hussain Parry Friday resigned from the party alleging that Congress workers were being sidelined in Jammu and Kashmir by the coalition government. Parray who is senior vice-president of Congress sent his resignation to the party president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz. Confirming this, Parray told KNS that coalition government had miserably failed to accommodate Congress workers. “Dozens of Congress workers come to my office daily and when I call some officer to redress their grievances, they don’t pay any heed. Similar is the situation with other Congress leaders,” he said. “Congress workers are completely being neglected as nobody in the administration is listening to them. Under such circumstances I have no other option but to resign. But I will always work for strengthening Congress as it is my mission,” he told KNS`. Parray alleged that some Congress leaders were misleading Prof Soz over the functioning of the government. “Chief Minister never attends meetings of coalition coordination committee though Prof Soz being chairman of the committee is always punctual. This shows how serious NC is towards the cause of coalition,” he added. Parray alleged that Dr Mustafa Kamal of NC always bashes Congress despite being part of the coalition. “But nobody stops him (Dr Kamal). This government is harmful for the Congress interests,” he alleged.
