| Six INIFD students to showcase designs at Lakme Fashion week | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 12: Six students namely Pinky, Parul Sharma, Shivani Sharma, Savita Gupta and Tanu Sharma left today with their collection winter festive 2011 for Mumbai to participate in “Lakme Fashion Week” to be held at Grand
Hyatt from 17th to 22th Sept. 2010.
INIFD is the official partner to “Lakme Fashion Week” India’s biggest Fashion Events.
This event provides a platform to Indian designers to showcase their creations to the buyers from all across the world .
The selection of the students design shows that there is immense talent and creativity in our city but just needs to be tapped and given a platform.
The designs of Avantika, Ritika and Harpreet were selected by a panel of 20 celebrities and amongst more than 1000 designs .
It is indeed a matter of pride for these students to have their designs shown along with the designs of other big designers like Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla, Ritu Kumar, Manish Arora, JJWallaya, and others.
While seeing off the students for Mumbai the Centre Head Vanita Thakur appreciated the effort of her dedicated staff, who could bring out the creativity of her students to a national and International level.
The students were very excited and thanked INIFD for providing them tremendous exposure & a platform to get an insight into the new trends in the Fashion World which could be a dream come true for so many at INIFD.
