Dermatology workshop emerges a grand success

Jammu, August 12:. Two-day workshop on skin surgery was organized in the temple city by Times of India & Aashta Shin and Dermato –Cosmetic Centre which attracted delegates from the country and abroad. Though its first day remained dedicated to presentations and reading of papers, the second day was lively interactive session for the experts in the field to share their experiences. In its procedure session, treatment was given to the patients using the new innovative techniques. Three patients were treated during this procedure session in which Dr Sudhir Shrama along with Dr Sri Lestari Kuncorowati from Indonesia performed latest techniques.

The procedures carried out included ‘Derma sanding’, a treatment to fill the pits and scars of acne and level the face. This was followed by techniques, instrumentation, application and art of tangential excision, and liposuction.

After the procedure section, the evening was again enlivened by the presence of Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma, who felicitated the various dignitaries on the occasion.

The Minister felicitated Dr Sudhir Sharma, a renowned dermatologist, Dr Sri Lestari Kuncorowati dermatologist from Indonesia, Dr Rajinder Singh, Principal Medical College, Dr Madhu Khullar, Director HJealt Services, Dr Sanjay Gupta, Dharmesh Nargotra, Tanya Gupta and others.

The Minister was all praise for the efforts of the Times of India and Aastha Skin and Dermato-Cosmetic Centre to organize such a type of workshop on skin surgery in Jammu. He described it as a new beginning in the discipline, which he felt will go a long way in meeting the needs of the affected patients. He also spelled the initiatives being taken for strengthening health services and efforts being made to expand its reach in far off and remote areas.

The minister said that many steps are required to be taken to further improvise the health sector. He visualized a big role for the private players in supplementing the efforts and hoped the workshops like this will help to create desired awareness among thethe people on skin problems.

The hectic schedule of the two-day workshop had a lighter conclusion with a lively musical evening entertaining the participants and the invitees. It was the real retreat for the passionate music lovers, as the evening unfolded a mix of movie tracks to Ghazals. It was the fathomless sea of music and all the music lovers delved deeply in it.
