Corpse of HM Divisional Commander reportedly found in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Aug 12: What could be a major success for security forces in Kishtwar District, a corpse of HM Divisional Commander Shahdin Khandey @Shah Sahib Son of Mangta Khandey resident of Chilli Gundow was reportedly found in Bharidokh forest connecting Kishtwar and Doda District with bordering neighboring Himachal Pradesh. According to the reports, security forces after receiving the information about the presence of corpse of some unknown person along with weapon in remote Bharidokh area in Kither forest of Kishtwar District, the security forces reached the spot and after verification of some documents and pouch along with weapons, it is believed that the corpse is that of HM Divisional Commander Shahdin Khandey. Khandey was active in the area since last two decades and last year he gives a slip to the security forces after furious gun battle in the same area and was then reportedly got injured before escaping the police cordon. He was instrumental in killing many civilians, recruiting youths in the rank of militancy, ransom and loot, beside he had direct link with the mentors across the border. If the reports pouring in from remote Bharidokh were true, then this will be a major success for security forces in Doda and Kishtwar District and big blow to the HM Militant outfit who had suffered heavy losses in twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar as most of the top commanders of the outfit were either got killed in an encounter with security forces or have been apprehended by the security forces. Shahdin Khandey is among the longest surviving militants, who remain active in the area since 1989. |
