Full dress rehearsal turns casual dress courtesy Rain God

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 12: While the Jammuites were struggling against the rain's havoc that lashed the city for the last two days the little kingdom alongwith their senior counterparts and some from belt forces participated in the -dress rehearsal of 65th Independence Day-2010 which was held at Mini Stadium Parade Ground Jammu here today.
Though it's a most cherished game for every child to play in the rain but participating in an official occasion is something else. The concerned authorities may have alter the programme and even can hold this at indoor stadium of Jammu University or in different phases at various community halls to save the children from the lashing rains and knee deep water.
It was not a performance by the children but simply it was wadding through the muddy water which even may cause skin itches and other infections to many for prolonged exposure to water.
Braving the rains this morning the school children from various schools participating in march past and the various of cultural activities participated in full dress rehearsal besides the little kingdom others who march past through the mud smitten Mini Stadium participated this included Senior civil, police and army officers were present on the occasion.
The contingents which dared to walk around the muddy track of Mini Stadium included Army, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, J&K Police, Armed, J&K Forest Protection Force and National Cadet Corps. Various educational institutions of Jammu district also participated in the march past which included Government Gandhi Nagar Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar , Govt Girl Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi and various other schools … Although the It A very impressive cultural programme was also presented by the school children. Thali dance presented by the artist from Ramban was also an added attraction which was applauded by one and all present on the occasion.
The students and the men from belt forces presented their best at the march past and cultural programme but somewhere some have felt it odd when rain lashed making the cherished and aptly prepared dresses fitting to the occasion to casuals.
