JKPDTU extends support to contractual lecturers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 14: JKPDTU senior leadership met here today to discuss outcome of the protracted struggle launched by about 1000 qualified candidates who had been working in the education department as lecturers on contract basis. They said that protest demonstration launched by contractual lecturers is well within their fundamental rights conforming to standard protest practice under conventional trade union movement. Government instead of coming out with threat of termination and victimization should patiently listen to the grievances of the highly qualified persons of the society, said JKPDTU leadership. Leadership said that they are rightly demanding basic pay of the grade of the lecturers’ and formulation of a policy for their regularization. Sharma assured full support to the agitating lecturers and warned the government to desist from hurling undemocratic threats. Prem Singh Bawa, Anchal Bakshi, Rajesh Kumar, Rohit Dogra, B.N. Singh, S.K.Raina and Aditya Khajuria were present on the occasion.
