| Madan for adequate relief to victims of flash floods | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 14: – Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma has demanded an immediate relief to the victims of heavy rains, flashflood in Jammu and adjoining areas. In a statement Sharma added that Jammu has witnessed a great loss of life and property of innocent people and held the concern authorities for wrong planning, encroachment and the main cause of water logging in Jammu. He said that vested interests using their good offices and with support from corrupt officers by resorting to corrupt practices have managed to get allotment and constructions on the nallahs, which is the main reason of loss due to heavy rains. He asked the government to take necessary measures and remove the encroachment otherwise Jammu will be hit by more flash floods and water logging in near future. He demanded that government should carry out door to door assignment of loss to the people and demanded that relief should be given on the first priority.
