| Fraud detected in the transfer of ownership rights of land | | | Srinagar, Dec 1 Police arrested a woman who fraudulently mortgaged 44 kanalas of three resident of Sopore with State Financial Corporation for sanction of loan at Kreeri in Baramulla district. Police has also arrested a Pathwari in this connection. According to reports reaching here , the officials of State Fores Corporation stung a surprised to Haji Mohd Abdullah Bhat and Haji Gh Mohd Bhat, both sons of Ab Aziz and Haji Khazir Mohd Bhat S/O Mohd Abdullah, all residents of Krankshivan colony Sopore, when they told them that 44 kanalas of land owned by them at Khisipora Kreeri has been mortgaged for the grant of a loan amounting to Rs 39.30 lakhs to an industrial concern. The amount with the interested has got increased to Rs 1.4 crores. The owners of the land in question refuted the claiom of SFC officials and registered a case under FIR No: 71/2006,U/S 420,419,418 and 467 RPC. Talking to KNS one of the land owners Nazir Ahmed Bhat said it has been learnt during the course of investigation that loan against the mortgage of the said land has been granted in favour of GSR Apperals established at Industrial Estate Khonmoh by Rohil Majeed Khan S/O late Ab Majeed Khan R/O Gulbarg Colony Peerbagh Hyderpora Srinagar (House No:B-12) and his mother Gulshan Iqbal. Talking to KNS, SHO Kreeri Ianam-ul-Asad said fraud in transferring ownership rights of the land in question has been detected during the course of investigation and a Pathwari, a tehsildar and Gidawar have been found involved in the fraudulent transfer of land. Police has arrested Gulshan Iqbal and Pathwari Ab Ghani on the instructions of DIG Baramulla-Kupwara range and further investigation is in progress. The fraud documents have been sent to Forensic Laboratory Chandigarah for tests and action is being contemplated against Pathwari and Girdwar.
