Hindu and Musalmaan will have to come together once again to seek “freedom” “Local Rajas”
But this time against the Corrupt & the Vote merchants
Daya Sagar8/14/2011 10:07:39 PM
It is 64 years today since the “ Angrej” left India. Pakistan too has observed its birth anniversary yesterday, I would not say independence for Pakistan since Pakistan has yet to taste democracy.
Now people have started asking ( may be in feeble tones ) whether the common man of India has really achieved that Independence for which the elders had carried violent / non violent movements against the British? Is the “ Indian free today”? People like Anna Hazare are asking for making a Law to effectively rein and punish the Corrupt. What problem is there in making such law ? Even those who are asking for such law could be investigated under the same law , if needed. It may take some time but surely soon message will reach the remotely placed INDIAN as well.
If at all Bharat had suffered any thing more agonizing than “amputation of a body part” in the 1947 religion based creation of Pakistan, it was the apparent breach ( what ever fine it may be ) of trust between the Hindu and Musalman who had so unitedly fought against the British right since 1857. Had the ill fortunes ended there , still it would have not that much of a loss. But unfortunately the people who were given the reins of governance in Independent India did very less to restore the trust between the hindu aur musalmaan but in stead for the sake of securing the vote of the innocent simple Bharatbasi did their best to creeks of distrust into ravines. Even many of those who called themselves Gandhivadi did not lag behind in the race for VOTE. They did succeed to some extent. But it were the Bhartiyae traditions, Bhartiyae sanscriti and the age old social bindings that the vote merchands did not succeed to fully carry on their unholy ambitions / plans. Many entered the race for votes. With this the votes did get divided in the name of religion. The poverty levels in Increased and ofcourse over the years the stability of national economy to has been hurt. Ofcourse the result today has been that the weak governments in States and center have failed to check and punish the corrupt elements as well as those who belive in the political gamesmanship in the name of caste/ religion/ region.
So this day the common man of India will have to become aware of his self. Hindu and Muslamaan will have to raise obstacles in the way of those who are bent up on socially exploiting the Hindustani to divert his intentions away from the corrupt activities of the politicians and the administrators. It is the utmost need in 2011 to remind those who this day are treating the democracy simply a means to secure power to rule the people that democracy ( Lok Raj) that was constitutionally installed in 1950 shall not be allowed any more to be “Vayaktee Raj”.
The only fruit of democracy that the elected representatives have given to people of India over last 60 years has been that the “Banyan” tree of Bharashtachar has grown so vast that what to talk of a common man even it appears difficult for a LEADER to imagine that there could any time exist a Kalpa Briksha ( as per Hindu belief a tree that could yield all good ). Bhrashtachaar has today become a route truth for all ( rather people appear having surrendered before the corrupt order ).Even after a single theft / “robbery”( direct / indirect ) on the public wealth / exchequer worth INR 1,76000 Cr the people of India do not appear that disturbed. And those sitting in the PRIME power seats so frankly / simply admit and inform the people who voted for them that in today’s India it is not possible to conduct the government in India without taking to the company of the “barashtachrie”.
It is also a bitter truth that nearly 100 Cr Indian people live in either the remote villages or are live in the urban areas sweating hard for earning two simple meals / remotely available education / health for their family. And those greedy for power play political games with the strength of the vote of the same innocent socio economically weak VOTER. The state of the economic level of the majority of Indian people could be gauged from the fact the under schemes like MNREGA the “Voter Citizen” pushes each other to be in the Q simply for getting employment for 100 days out of 365 days , and too just for INR 100 / INR 120 per day. And one who gets it feels so much obliged to the local politician or the “Block” official. Were as the lowest level regular government employee gets Rs. 700 per day. Not only this day even the minimum education and health cover is not easily available for the common man ( with whose vote the governments are installed ) without direct / indirect cost ( even from the government institutions). MLA /MP/Ministers still boast of having created the government infrastructure of schools and hospitals but themselves do not normally visit government hospitals as well as do not send their children to the Government schools inspite of the fact that the Government school teachers are comparatively so handsomely paid this day. It was only on 3rd or 4rth August 2011 that the UPA-II Adhayaksha and the Chief of Mahatama Gandhi’s Congress had gone abroad for treatment. Just think over could not she be treated in AIIMS Delhi or PGI Chandigarh ? 5 or 7 star private sector hospitals too appeared no fit for such treatment .Could there be any bigger question than this on the Health care services made available in India even in 64 Yrs of independence?
But people of India can not be ruled and befooled like this for more time. Time is not far when the message would reach the poor rural Indian villages too that India is an Independent country and in Independent India the real Ruler has to be HE ( voter) and not a Patwari / Governemt official/ BDO / Collector / Police Officer / MLA / MP / Minister. This 15 August every Indian should remember the Mahatama Gandhi’s 9 August 1942 Angrejo Bharat Chodo ( quit India ) challenge , but this time it has not to be against any foreign power . 2011 August “ Quit the Corrupt Order” has to be thrown on the local Political Leaders so that he listens to the agony of the common man / tax payer. The mismanagement / wastage / corruption / loot of the national wealth created through the exploited mineral wealth / the loans secured for WB/ ADB/ IMF/ Foreign institutions / taxes collected from the common Indian and the money earned from the services exported will have to be forced through the pressures created by the civil society. For this the reins of the government machinery will have to be pulled by the common Hindustani itself since the enforcement / vigilance / administrative institutions have practically failed to finally punish the culprits. People like Anna Hazare are asking for making a Law to effectively rein and punish the Corrupt. What problem is there in making such law ? Even those who are asking for such law could be investigated under the same law , if needed. Do not try to misinform the common man. It may take some time but surely soon message will reach the remotely placed INDIAN as well
No doubt in a democracy parliament is supreme. But the people sitting in the Parliament are not the ultimate supreme. The VOTER do not lose their right to make a suggestion to a MP after electing him to Parliament. Those who advocate that Civil Society has no right to talk of what law should be made are simply trying to misguide the innocent people. The person elected to Lok Sabha is not the ultimate ruler but he is the representative of the Voter.
Hindu and Musalmaan shall have to once again come together and rise against the “Brashtachaari” and vote / religion/ caste merchants for obtaining Swatantrata from their “own people”.(Daya Sagar is a Sr coloumnist of Kashmir affairs and a social activist [email protected] 9419796096)
