Unity strength of India,says coalition committed for equitable development of 3 regions

JAMMU, Aug 15 : The Deputy Chief Minister Tarachand today stressed the need for maintaining unity in order to help nation emerge a strong power as also for ensuring peace and progress in J&K state. Tarachand said unity is the strength of India which one needs to maintain at all costs. He also said India wants to have cordial and peaceful relations with all the countries across the world , partculary with neighboring nation Pakistan.Listing achievements, he also said government is committed to ensure equitable development of all the three regions.
Amidst a fanfare of cultural bonanza blend with colourful items depicting diverse yet cohesive regional bonds of secularism the 65th Independence Day was celebrated in Jammu today with the main function organized at Jammmu's Mini stadium. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand who was the chief guest on the occasion unfurled National Flag.
While greeting citizens on the day of National pride, the Deputy Chief Minister remembered the great sacrifices of freedom fighters who laid down their lives for liberating the country from the foreign yoke. "It was share love and devotion for the country that inspired the leaders of freedom movement to make supreme sacrifices" he added. The Deputy Chief Minister took salute at the march-past by contingents drawn from Police, Armed and Auxiliary Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, Civil Defense, NCC, and schools."On this happy occasion join me in saluting the hard work of all our citizens who have, over these years, helped build a new India. "Let us bow our head in memory of all those brave jawans and all our brave citizens who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of the unity, integrity and progress of the country," he said.
Expressing satisfaction over progress achieved by the Nation, the Deputy Chief Minister said that a lot has been achieved over the years, but still the young nation has to go miles, adding that the war against poverty and unemployment has yet to be won. Lauding the role of central government, the Deputy Chief Minister said under the able guidance of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh state has got liberal funding for development projects. He said various centrally sponsored schemes, like MNREGA, JNRURM have been a boon for employment and have helped raise most modern infrastructure in the state.
He said under Prime Minister's reconstruction package Rupees 1200 crore has already been sanctioned and work is underway to create massive infrastructure across the state.
Underlining the commitment of the state government for strengthening grass root democracy, Mr. Tara Chand said the coalition government led by Mr Omar Abdullah has created history by successfully holding Panchayat elections after a gap of three decades. The unprecedented participation of people in these elections show that people of the state are eager to participate in the process of growth and development in the state, he added.
He said soon elections for various Urban Local bodies and Municipalities would be held and the government expects same positive response from the people. Recalling contribution of late Shri Rajiv Gandhi in empowering common man through Panchayati Raj, the Deputy Chief Minister said that dream of late Prime Minister has been fulfilled in the state. He said Pachayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies have a crucial role to play in the government's strategy of inclusive growth.
Reiterating resolve of the government for equitable development of all regions and sub-regions of the state. The Deputy Chief Minister said time has come to look beyond government employment and to encourage entrepreneurship among youth SKEWPY has been launched by the government. He called upon youth to take maximum benefit from the scheme and start own ventures.
