HC issues bailable warrants against Secretary GAD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, August-16 (JNF):- Justice JP Singh issued bailable warrants against Secretary to Govt General Administration Dept to the tune of Rs 10,000 for securing his presence in the court in a contempt petition. This significant order has been passed in contempt petition filed by 43 employees of Forest Dept for non-compliance of Court orders. It is worthwhile to mention here there 43 employees of the forest dept had seeking their regularization under SRO 64 of 1994 and filed petition in the High Court in the year 2007. State High Court issued directions to the respondents for their regularization and their adjustment. Ultimately the petitioners filed this contempt petition in which Justice JP Singh observed that this Court order vide dated June 7, 2011 Secreatry GAD was required to take decision for creation of posts for petitioners and their adjustments within a period of two months, failing which he had to appear in the Court to explain his position. Today none appears for the state respondents and petitioners present in person, the secretary did not comply with the directions of the Court, Upon this Justice JP took a serious view of the non-compliance of the directions issued by the High Court, the Secreatry was directed to show cause as to why contempt proceedings be not initiated against him for causing delay in implementation of the Court orders. Despite Service, the Secreatry has opted not to respond. In these circumstances, to secure the presence of secretary, coercive process needs to be resorted and issued bailable warrants against Secreatry GAD. JNF JNF/AUGUST/16/2011/1
