| New secretary for Cultural Academy | | Govt constitutes search committee | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Aug 16: Government has constituted a search committee headed by senior National Conference leader and MLC Mohammad Yousuf Taing to find a new secretary for Cultural Academy, sources told KNS.
They said Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department Mohammad Sayeed Khan, Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Culture Atul Duloo, noted poet Rehman Rahi and Prof N D Sharma are members of the committee.
The term of incumbent Secretary Zaffar Iqbal Manhas comes to an end on August 31. Manhas served the Academy as secretary for the more than three years.
Talking to KNS Taing said he heard verbally that he has been appointed as head of the search committee. “But I have not received any written order. I was with CM yesterday he didn’t tell me anything,” he said. (KNS)
