| DDC Jammu discusses Shobha Yatra arrangements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, AUGUST 16- District Development Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Verma today convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the smooth conduct of upcoming Janamashtami and Shobha yatra here today.
The Janamashtami falling on 22 August, 2011 and the Shobha yatra scheduled on 20 August, 2011.
ADC Jammu Sheetal Nanda, ACG Vivek Sharma, Joint Commissioner JMC Babu Ram, Chief Medical Officer Jammu Baldev Raj Sharma, XEN PHE Ashok Gandotra, SP City J. S. Johar, SP CID Joginder Singh, SP Traffic Zahid Manhas, SP Security Mehmood Ahmed, General Manager NBCC Hem Raj, representatives of various religious organization and officers from concerned departments attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussion were held on various issues pertaining to security arrangements, traffic arrangements, removal of encroachments, cleanliness/ repairs of the route, drinking water arrangements, un-interrupted power supply, medical arrangements etc.
DDC Jammu emphasized on making adequate arrangements will in advance for the smooth conduct of Shobha Yatra in connection with celebration of Janamashtmi.
He directed NBCC authorities to complete the restoration work on the yatra route so that there is no inconvenience during yatra. He asked for maintaining close coordination between various departments to ensure smooth conduct of Shobha Yatra. He also asked the various departments to work in close coordination and synergy.
