| Woman killed, 20 hurt in road accidents | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATRA/JAMMU, Aug 16: A woman pilgrim was killed and 20 others, including women, were wounded in separate road mishaps across the region today.
While alighting from a bus (JK02M/6460) outside Niharika Shakti Bhavan at Bus Stand in Katra, a woman fell down and the rear tyre of the vehicle ran over her, resulting in her instant death. A youth was injured in the incident.
Police identified the dead as Manorama Devi, wife Om Prakash of Bihar, and the injured as Amit Kumar (23), son of Ram Bahadur of Bihar. Amit was hospitalised.
Anju, wife of Sohan Lal of Haripur, Kathua, and her son Nishant were injured after a motorcycle hit them at Kali Bari. They were admitted to the Kathua district hospital and later referred to the GMC hospital here.
Sushil Gupta of Trikuta Nagar, his brother Sushant Gupta, Karan Lal of Phalain Mandal, Raj Kumar of Haryana, Anita Devi of Sajjadpur, Om Prakash of Rathana, R S Pura, Iqbal of Christian Colony, Rattan Gupta of Udhampur, Deep Kumar of Manoregalla, Rajouri, Ashok Kumar of Bamogi, Akhnoor, Kaka Ram of Aghar Jeeto, Shankar Chand of Batote, Surinder of Dogra Hall, his wife and their son, Manmeet Singh of Baramullah and Jai Kour of Bohri, Talab Tillo, were injured in other road accidents.
All of them were hospitalised.
