Bhalla asks officers to restore public utilities | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 16: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has asked the PHE, R&B, UEED, PDD and JMC to immediately restore the public utilities, which were affected due to flash floods and heavy rains, under National Calamity Relief Fund (NCRF). Minister was interacting with the officers during his damage assessment tour to flood hit areas of Jammu city, here today. During his tour to Rohi Morh near lower Gaddigarh, Bhalla asked the DDC to release funds under NCRF for restoration of breach portion of local nallah which was damaged due to flash floods. He asked the Urban Environmental Engineering Department to immediately start the construction work of crates on the embankments of the nallahs at Sai Vihar, Priyadarshni Nagar in Trikuta Nagar. Minister said that the Government is fully aware of the problems of the people of the State who have suffered losses due to recent flash floods and rains. He assured that every possible help will be extended to the victims of the flash floods for their proper rehabilitation. Bhalla impressed upon the officers to maintain transparency in the distribution of financial assistance among the flood affected families besides ensuring its timely disbursement. He said that Government is keen to address public concerns on priority and the administrative machinery is being geared up for timely redressal of grievances of the people.
