Petrol pump employee, friend held for enacting decoity; cash recovered | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 16: It was a decoity well enacted by an employee of a petrol pump at Pargwal in Khour area of Akhnoor when he he last night reported to police that five masked youth had robbed him of cash. To make the scene look like a real one, he also smashed the glass panes of the petrol pump office. Rohit Singh, son of Jagat Singh of Pargwal, worked at the petrol pump of Abu Mahajan, son of Satish Gupta of Trikuta Nagar, at Pargwal. Police sources said he last night called up Abu and told him that some masked men, who came to the petrol pump in a car, had beaten him, smashed the office glass panes and robbed him of Rs 76,800. The incident worried Abu who reached the pump late at night after covering a distance of about 50 km and brought the matter to the notice of Khour police station. Taking notice of the incident, police registered a case. Sources said discrepancies in the statement of Rohit led to his intense interrogation. Finally, he confessed to have enacted the robbery with the help of his friend Vijay Singh, son of Ghar Singh of Sidarwan Camp, Gakhrial. Police today raided Vijay's residence and recovered the cash. Both Rohit and Vijay were arrested and booked under section 380 of RPC. They had planned to buy motorcycles with the stolen money, the sources added. |
