| Karra discusses amendment bill | | |

A meeting of the Select Committee to discuss the issues relating to Legislators’ Pension (Amendment) Bill, 2004 was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Tariq Hamid Karra.
MLA, Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Commissioner/Secretary, Finance Mr. B.B.Vyas, Secretary Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Ganai and officers of Law Department were present in the meeting.
The Committee held threadbare discussion on the subject and touched all the related matters. The Members exchanged their views and sought more time before making final recommendations.
The Government Bill No. 14 came for consideration in the House during the year 2004 and was referred to the Select Committee for its recommendations. The Bill seeks amendment in the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Members’ Pension Act, 1984 which is presently in vogue.
