| SP Udhampur holds Police-public meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT

In order to reach out to the public to provide a clean administration and hassle free Police services, SP, Udhampur Shakeel Ahmed Baig held a public meeting in which a galaxy of persons from different political, religious, social and trade organizations participated. Beside others local MLA and Dig Jagat Kumar participated in meeting .
SP Udhampur appealed the general public to maintain peace at all costs as it is imperative for the development and other normal activities. He appealed the public not to fall prey to the machinations of forces inimical to peace.
SP requested the general public to give a feed back on the measures adopted by the police particularly those issues which affect the society as a whole. They were also requested to be the eyes and ears of Police and provide inputs regarding the nefarious designs of anti-national and anti-social elements so that threats are neutralized well in time.
Giving detail of police action against crime he added that police has booked several under drug trafficking , bovine smuggling , gambling and excise acts . He further added that several have been challenged for violating traffic norms .
He assured that police would deal with iron hands with criminals and anti social elements. . Taking serious view of some issues raised by the speakers, he hoped for getting information and feedback which will help police take prompt action against the law breakers. Public of Udhampur assured that fullest possible cooperation will be extended for establishing a crime and violence free society .
