| People like Anna Hazare are asking for making a Law to effectively rein and punish the Corrupt. What problem is there in making such law ? Even those who are asking for such law could be investigated under the same law , if needed. Anna Hazare has been taken into custody in the early hours of the day following the 65th Independence day of India even before he could start his indefinite protest fast against the attitude of the government regarding draft of the Lok Pal bill to be presented before the Indian Parliament for discussions / debate / approval.
Prime Minister addressing the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort had disappointed the people most when he said that his government had no magic stick worth eradicating corruption. He did not lay down even a “five year” plan to fight corruption. It surely sent a very very unfortunate message to all concerned that Prime Minister was trying to “shirk” from the responsibility . The general record of all the movements and protests that Anna Hazarre has so far initiated / lead has been violence free. May be pained with such a state of affairs and the compulsions that the UPA –II Government appeared to be sunk in Anna Hazarre addressed the media in a different style after having “meditated “ for about two hours at the Raj Ghat same evening. Anna said that 2nd August Karanti has begun, it has to be taken to logical ends. He would start his Protest Fast “ at a place where ever he is on 16th August. Laying total stress on the Gandhian ways of protests , he said that he still hoped that need would not emerge for taking to Shatrapati Shivajee’s style for attaining “ freedom”. In my write up on 15August I had said that now people have started asking ( may be in feeble tones ) whether the common man of India has really achieved that Independence for which the elders had carried violent / non violent movements against the British? Is the “ Indian free today”?. And today I have found people asking so loudly, ::Is “Indian” free today ?
From the styles and manners in which the leaders who represent the UPA –II India Government have been addressing the questions on social, economic and political issues over the last few months could surely send seven key indicators worth carrying to the common man of India. And the key indicators are :
Indicator -1 :: Even ECONOMIST “No 1” can not free Indian people from the Daeyon of Mehngayee unless the Rule of Corrupt is demolished. Even after a single theft / “robbery”( direct / indirect ) on the public wealth / exchequer worth INR 1,76000 Cr those sitting in the PRIME power seats so frankly / simply admit and inform the people who voted for them that in today’s India it is not possible to conduct the government in India without taking to the company of the “barashtachrie”. But the inflation that is eating into the peace of Indian house - hold can only be brought under control by dismantling the corrupt order. So, “king maker” the voter citizen can only medicate.
2. Indicator -2 :: Those in the power seat are trying to divert the attention of the innocent common caught in earning too difficult two simple meals. UPA-II stalwarts are dismissing the demands of the Civil Society by arguing that it is the parliament that has to make laws and the Civil Society is making attempts to abuse the Indian Constitution / parliament. Though in principle the argument is baseless but the common man may get carried away . So, the need is to take the truth to the 100 Cr Voter citizens living in villages and sweating to earn even survival bread for their self. No doubt Parlament is supreme but the person sent to sit in Parliament is not supreme.
3. Indicator-3 ::: The UPA- II stalwarts advocate that those sent to Parliament are elected by the people and any one who has to question them must first get elected to parliament. This very clearly explains the clever mind set of the “ todays” politician who feels too secure in the “number game’ culture. The Voter citizen could be misled with such arguments. A contesting candidate is elected by the voter citizen after HE make promises for truthful / honest working for the welfare of the society. So, after he is elected for 5 years the right of the Indian citizen to suggest him the needs / question him for non performance is not lost. This has to be carried deep into the innocent Indian people..
4.Indicator -4 :::It is also a bitter truth that nearly 100 Cr Indian people live in either the remote villages or e live in the urban areas sweating hard for earning two simple meals / remotely available education / health for their family. And those greedy for power play political games with the strength of the vote of the same innocent socio economically weak VOTER. Those in the power seat today have so arrogant that they do not care for any wise counsel. Those in the power seat appear convinced that they can rule by exploiting the innocence of the common poor remotely placed 100 Cr Indian people in the name of Gandhi / Indira / subsidies/ corrupted welfare programmes like aawas yojnas/ MNREGA . So, the August Kranti-II has to be carried the Exploited Indian people majority of whom live in slums / villages and form the workable vote strength for the politicians.
5. Indicator- 5 ::: India is an Independent country and in Independent India the real Ruler has to be HE ( voter) and not a Patwari / Governemt official/ BDO / Collector / Police Officer / MLA / MP / Minister. Social reforms have to be hence taken upon simultaneously as long term medication along with short term emergency measures like political reforms ( like creating institutions like Lokpal ).
6. Indicator -6 :: The “ rulers of free India” ( who matter ) do not appear ready for mending their conduct. Anna Hazare has very clearly said that he is not a simple votary of change of government. He simply wants that the Government should be run truthfully, who so ever may run it. The message that has been repeated sent by the ‘civil’ society is that let the conditions be created for making the life of the CORRUPT difficult ( if not impossible) and let UPA-II become UPA-III. But the CORRUPT order of the day appears so not at all scared of those who are carrying on the “ battles “ against the corrupt and impressions emerging are that the Bharashtacharies appear convinced that that can buy the vote of the bulk of innocent voter citizens with the help of the unduly amassed wealth out of the corrupted PUBLIC funds.
7. Indicator -7 :: The law and order machinery / investigating agencies too are being exploited by the power seats and are used only to pressurize the opponents. This has to be forcefully objected to.
So, times demand that to shape the ‘battles’ into a full-fledged WAR against the corrupt the message has to be carried deep into the Indian masses that ---What problem is there in establishing a law / institution like Jan Lok Pal that could investigate even those people who are asking for such law ? Let Lok Pal investigate Anna’s Trust or Ramdev’s Yogpeeth as well. Voter citizen has to be told this in simple words from the near.
