JAMMU, Aug 17: Six persons, including four women, made abortive bids on their lives by consuming poison at their respective residences here today.
Police identified five of them as Balbir Singh, son of Karan Singh of ward No 10, Arnia, Ram Krishan, son of Hukam Chand of Kishtwar, Meeta, wife of Kanaiya Lal of Trikuta Nagar, Fatima Begum, wife of Mohammad Yaqoob of Belicharana, Asha, daughter of Parmanand of Akhnoor, Reetu, daughter of Krishan Gopal of Darso, Udhampur.
All of them were undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital. An unidentified person, who too had consumed poison, was also admitted to the GMC hospital .
Cases in this connection were registered at the concerned police stations.
