Programme on “preparing for civil services exams’ held

Jammu, Aug 17: Internal Quality Assurance Cell of GDC Udhampur organisedb a career counseling programme for the aspirants of Civil Services Examination. In the programme titled “Preparing for Civil Services Exam.”, Sarvjeet Soodan and Mohd. Aijaz , the toppers of Civil Services Exam. 2010 were the resource persons.
The purpose of the programme was to provide a platform to the aspirants of this exam to interact with those who are very fresh on the preparation methodology.
The programme was presided over by the principal N.K. Resutra. In his presidential address he congratulated the resource persons for bringing laurels to the state by qualifying the prestigious and most coveted Civil Services Examination.
He expressed his gratitude to the resource persons for having spared time to interact with the students who are at the threshold of their preparation.
“Providing the students an opportunity for live interaction with the IAS toppers is a good practice started by the IQAC and I hope more such programs follow. The resource persons have de-mystified various myths regarding the preparations in their interactions and have made aspirants’ further course smoother,” he added .The College honoured Soodan and Aijaz for their achievements.
A lively interactive session followed the presentations made by the resource persons on various strategies of preparation like choice of optional subjects, resource material, guidance and support of family and friends.
Earlier the program started with the welcome address by Romesh Chander Sharma, organizer of the programme. Sudhir Singh, convenor IQAC moderated the interactive session whereas G.R Verma Secretary IQAC proposed vote of thanks. Tara Nath, Udhey Bhanu, Subash Samyal, Suresh Dogra and Ajay K. Sharma also attended the programme along with students of the college.
