| College contractual lecturers hold protest | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, August 17: College Contractual Lecturers under the leadership of Sureshd Sadotra held a massive demonstration in front of nodal Principal GGM Sc College for delay in issuance of appointment orders for academic session 2011-12.
The counseling was held on August 4 2011 but the nodal Principal has failed to issues the appointment letters. The demonstration alleged that taking advantage of the situation some of the Principal are appointing their nears and dears as guest faculty.
This is an attempt to erode the transparent system of counseling as nears and dears of these Principal could not find place in merit list.
The demonstration impressed upon the Nodal Principal to give directions to all Principals not to appointment any Contractual Lecture until an order to the effect is issued by Nodal Principal.
The association also condemns the action taken against the Contractual Teachers in Kashmir and urged the Higher Education Department to take immediate decision with respect to our long pending demands which includes framing a policy for regularization of all lectures/ teaching assistants working on academic arrangement on the pattern of regularization of adhoc/contractual employees working in other departments including REZ, basic Salary Rs 21600/- to all Lecturers/ Teaching Assistants working on academic arrangement as per sixth pay commission, permission to pursue part time Ph.D to all lecturers / teaching assistants working on academic arrangement and participation of lecturers / teaching assistants in all decision making bodies of the College.
