| Willow clefts seized at Lakhanpur | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Aug 17:
The sleuths of excise department at toll post Lakhanpur seized a truck bearing registration no JK03-4718 and recovered willow clefts being smuggled to Punjab. The driver of the truck Mohd Yusuf of Tral who was taking the truck to Punjab under the garb of finished cricket bats was also arrested on spot. The entire operation was conducted by Excise and Taxation Officers comprised of Gurmohan Singh, P.S. Chib, Alyas Khan Excise and Sanjeev Khajuria inspector under direct supervision of Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur. “As the case pertains to forest department the truck and the willow clefts were handed over to Forest Protection Force Kathua” an officer said.
