| BDO-Sarpanch clash in Budhal | | | Amit Sharma
rajouri, Aug 17: Election of a Naib Sarpanch led to a scuffle between Sarpanch and Block Development Officer (BDO) Budhal following which the areas nearby remained tense.
The Sarpanch along with his supporters reached Rajouri to lodge protest against the BDO and his officials for allegedly misbehaving with the Sarpanch.
Sources said that hand to hand scuffle broke out in Block Development Officer's Office Budhal on Wednesday when a Sarpanch of Kandi area allegedly attacked BDO Yar Ali Khan for allegedly abusing the former.
The sources said the bone of contention between the Sarpanch and BDO was the election of Naib Sarpanch Kandi, whose candidature was opposed by the latter.
"The scuffle started on election of Naib Sarpanch Kandi area where Sarpanch had already got elected a Naib Sarpanch and BDO was reportedly against the election which resulted in face to face confrontation," said sources.
During the scuffle, sources said that officials of Community Information Centre in the BDO office also joined it and allegedly thrashed Sarpanch.
The scuffle continued for some time. However Sarpanch and his Panches register their protest against the Block Development Officer for alleged misconduct. Sarpanch has also approached higher authorities of the district for action against the officials of BDO office for allegedly manhandling him. |
