Fake RTO arrested, fake stamps of VIPs recovered
Accused on five days police remand, more revelations expected

Jammu, Aug 17: Police arrested a person along with fake stamps and certificates, which were being provided by him to the locals in Jammu here today.
"Acting swiftly on the disclosure of the accused, Amarjeet Singh alias Dimple son of Harnam Singh, about the issuance of a fake category, character and Motor Vehicle Department certificates issued by him, a police party led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Sajjad Khan, In charge Police Post Nehru Market Hilal Haider last night raided the house of Dimple in village Malakpur, RS Pura and recovered the fake stamps and documents, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Mohan Lal said while addressing a press conference.
Amarjeet was arrested from Ware House area on suspicious circumstances, he said.
The accused, a matriculate dropout, along with his associates used to provide fake certificates to the people in the area besides middle pass certificates to the youth, police said, adding he used to charge between Rs 300 to 5000 per document.
"He was arrested after one of the certificates issued by him to the complainant was rejected by the authorities,'' police said and added some stamps of Tehsildar settlement RS Pura, headmasters, Principals, Managing Director ERA, MLA RS Pura, SP South, RTO Jammu, verification stamps of army officers and other revenue officials were recovered from the shop of his associate identified as Dilip Kumar Gupta, proprietor of Print Art printing press at Nai Basti .
On his further disclosure, police conducted a raid on the shop of one Vikas Jandiyal son of Vaid Jandiyal resident of Nanak Nagar from where police seized huge quantity of fake scanned documents and other documents pertaining to Motor Vehicle Department along with computer, scanner and printer.
While Vikas was arrested on spot, Dilip is absconding, SDPO said, adding a manhunt has been launched to arrest him.
A case has been registered against them under section 419,420,467,468, 471 RPC. He said that Amarjeet was on five days police remand and has been put under sustained questioning to elicit more information from him.
