PAC seeks concrete reply on audit paras | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, AUGUST 18: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly on Thursday asked the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to furnish concrete reply about the CAG’s audit paras about financial management and survey planning pertaining to the Corporation so that these paras could be dropped. The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of Mir Saifullah were not satisfied with the reply during discussion in today’s meeting while discussing some CAG’s audit paras including diversion of funds of Rs.1.82 crore pertaining to the Corporation. Threadbare discussion was also held over the working of the Local Bodies department and the Committee asked the Director, Local Bodies Kashmir to submit sector wise details under sponsored schemes for its examination. While discussing CAG’s audit paras pertaining to Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), the Committee with its Members Abdul Gaffar Sofi, Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Syeed Bhasharat Ahmad Bukhari, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain and Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta after threadbare discussion dropped CAG’s audit para about improper contract management of Rs.3.43 crore pertaining to SMC for 2008-09. Detailed discussion was also held on functioning, performance of LAWDA besides conservation of lakes and the Committee decided that it will visit on-the-spot inspections soon to check the working. |
