| Shabir releases 3 Pahari publications | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Aug 18: Minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmad Khan released three Pahari publications reflecting varied shades of Pahari life and culture, brought out by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at an impressive function organized by the Academy here today.
Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board Mushtaq Ahmad Bhukhari and Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas were also present on the occasion.
A number of Pahari intellectuals, writers, poets, prominent citizens besides senior officers of the academy participated in the function.
The publications which released by the Minister included Rajouri Number, Khawab Sawallay and Phulwar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Pahari language has historical background and is spoken by people across the frontiers. He said the language deserves fair deal at all levels. He said government is committed to address the problems of Pahari speaking people of the state, adding that focused attention is being given to promote and preserve Pahari language at all levels.
Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board in his address admitted that during past one year the Pahari Board was unable to provide monitory support for promotion of Pahari culture to the academy. He promised that the Board would provide financial assistance to the academy for the purpose.
Earlier, Secretary Academy in his welcome address said that he was proud to say that over the decades Pahari has emerged as a major language. He praised the efforts of Pahari section of the academy which they have made for promotion of Pahari language and culture.
