| Railway Minister assures early rail link to Rajouri-Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 18: Union Railway Minister has assured that rail link to Rajouri-Poonch via Akhnoor will be considered on priority and soon the Ministry will carry out a survey for the project.
The Union Minister said this while replying to the issue of providing rail link to this area in the Parliament raised by Member Parliament, Jammu Poonch, Madan Lal Sharma. He said that the file, in this regard, is under consideration of the Railway Ministry since quite long. He said that large number of Army and Para Military Forces are posted in Rajouri-Poonch to protect our borders and more than 4-5
Division Headquarters are operating in Rajouri Poonch and Akhnoor besides the area is highly populated and connectivity is not upto the mark. He demanded that the file lying with the Ministry may be cleared on priority to benefit the people of Akhnoor and twin border districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
