Arrangements for Kailash Kund Yatra from Dudu discussed

UDHAMPUR, Aug 18: To discuss necessary arrangements for annual Kailash Kund Yatra commencing from August 26 in tehsil Ramnagar (Dudu) of Udhampur district, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan convened a meeting of officers here on Thursday.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various issues pertaining to smooth conduct of the yatra which included supply of essential commodities, installation of drinking water points at different locations enroute base camp at Dudu to Seoj Dhar, proper medicare and transport facilities etc.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dudu-Basantgrah, Amit Sharma was appointed as Nodal Officer of the yatra who would supervise over all arrangements from base camp, Dudu to Kalaish Kund. The concerned Tehsildar was also directed to camp at Seoj Dhar base camp on 26th and 27th August to ensure comfortable stay of yatries and provision of essential commodities.
The Civil Defence Organization, Udhampur and Nehru Yuva Kendra would keep their ten volunteers each at the disposal of Nodal Officer of the yatra to facilitate the pilgrimage. Besides, ARTO, Udhampur was asked to press additional buses from different routes leading to Dudu for the convenience of the yartries. It was also discussed that sufficient tent facilities would be managed at Seoj Dhar during the yatra. For the purpose, Tourism department and other Para-military forces would be approached for the provision. The provision of Helicopter service to the yatries from base camp Dudu to Kalaish Kund was also discussed in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the heads of concerned departments to put in place all the arrangements well in advance for the smooth conduct of the yatra so that the yatries may not feel inconvenience.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Gurvinderjeet Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers, PHE and PDD, Tehsildars, Ramnagar and Chenani, ARTO, Udhampur, Secretary Red Cross and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
