Employees' strike disrupts govt functioning in Kargil | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Jammu 18:- All the government offices including government run school remained closed in Kargil region of Jammu and Kashmir due to a strike call given by the Employment Joint Action Committee. Students were seen returning to home as the schools were without teachers and not a single attendance was recorded in government offices, in response to the complete lock out strike call by employees body. A delegation of EJAC Kargil headed by its President Mohd Mukhtar Khan met the Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan and Deputy Commissioner Kargil and submitted a memorandum. The employees body demanded restoration of Compensatory Allowance as admissible prior to 1982 and release of Special Duty Allowance as recommended by the Central Sixth Pay Commission.
