Anti Corruption Manch, Jammu has strongly condemned the undemocratic action of the govt of India and Delhi govt in detaining the crusader against corruption, Anna Hazare and other members of his team of civil society, in an attempt to foil his fast and demonstrations by his supporters, for enacting a strong Lok Pal Bill. The action taken against Anna Hazare and other members of his team and also detaining thousands of their supporters is dictatorial and againSt the democratic norms and freedom provided in our constitution to hold peaceful demonstrations, to press for some genuine demand. The uprising in the country as a whole against this draconian action by the govt should be an eye opener for the govt that people will no more tolerate rampant corruption in the administration, public life, judiciary and among the members of parliament and state assemblies. The people have resolved to throw out the corrupt and anti democratic forces. Addressing a press conference here today, Baldev Singh Wazir, Chairman Anti Corruption Manch has said that though there can be differences among various parties as well as enlightened individuals about the contents and scope of Lok Pal bill, to be enacted in the parliament, but denying anyone the right to express his view point mobilized public opinion for the same and also hold peaceful protest, including fast, to press his demand, is undemocratic the Manch has added. Announcing the action programme of the Manch, S Baldev Singh announced that they will be holding protest dharnas and even token and relay hunger strike, to express their solidarity and support to the movement against corruption, being led by Anna Hazare. The Manch appealed to the people at large, particularly the youth to carry the movement to its logical end. Extending whole-hearted support to Gandhian Anna Hazare's crusade against rampant corruption in the country, Jai Jawan Jai Kissan Development Committee (JJJKDC) today lashed out at the UPA government for restoring to repressive measures to suppress the democratic voice of people. The Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of Anil Sharma, Founder JJJKDC at its headquarters Vikas Nagar, Sarwal. The participants while extending full support to popu¬lar movement against the corruption alleged that the detention of social activist Anna Hazare was illegal, unconstitutional and undemocratic. Addressing the participants, Sharma said, "We extend our support to anti-corruption crusade launched by Anna Hazare and his team. This is the high time for every citizen to awake to rampant corruption and fight against the menace in unison." "More the UPA government resort to suppressive measures, earlier it disappears. People will not tolerate autocratic behaviour of the government and it must negotiate with Hazare and his team to draft a people-friendly Lokpal Bill," he said. Taking a dig at the UPA government, Sharma said it was highly shameful that separatists, who had been waging war against the Indian Union since long, were provided luxurious facilities like TV and mobiles in jails while nationalist people like Anna Hazare were denied of it. "This is the right time for revolution. Anna has rightly said that it is the second freedom struggle of the country. Politicians in our country are scared because they are involved in deep-rooted corruption," Sharma said.
