srinagar, Aug 18: In a glaring example of rules and fair play being thrown to the winds, a favourite official who fudged his date of birth, has been promoted by the State Legislative Council authorities.
An official who fudged his date of birth certificate to prolong his service period has instead of being punished for the serious and gross misconduct been promoted and this happened despite the fact that the state crime branch clearly established a case of fraud against the official.
The crime branch enquiry had established that the official had submitted a fake date of birth certificate to seek promotion to the rank of the deputy secretary in the legislative council. The official was originally appointed as a reporter.
As per the report of the crime branch sleuths, the official had committed offences under section 420 RPC by submitting a forged document.
When it was expected that disciplinary/criminal proceedings would be started against the official, his promotion orders were issued by the Council's secretariat taking everybody by complete surprise. |
